What's it for: Focusing on the right actions

Who's it for: Those in a hurry to make change and to progress

"Movement teases us with the illusion of progress. Confusing movement with results often makes things worse, not better". Farnam Street.

Preparations are necessary but not enough for achieving results. The actions we take are often just preparations for what we really want to accomplish. Doing something isn't the same as getting results. The problem is motion makes us feel like we’re progressing; as we all believe our only options are to do something or do nothing. We forget the third very powerful option, and that is to carefully consider what the desired outcome is and gather more information and insight to inform the desired action.

We’re all too often in a hurry to progress and to do something with urgency, however most of the time, our early action is misplaced and wasted. It’s akin to running out of your front door without knowing where you are going or what you need to do! So the next time you feel the urge to do something for the sake of doing something remember;
